Abstract
- The article discusses the challenges and opportunities brought about by tobacco control in South Asia. In South Asia, 50 percent of males and 20 percent of females of ages 15 years old and above use tobacco in cigarette smoking, bidi smoking, or betel quid chewing. Because of this, mortality rates due to tobacco in this region is undoubtedly high. Thus, spurts the need for tobacco usage regulation. However, controlling tobacco usage needs to be diverse in order to be effective and appropriate.
