Abstract
- The article discusses the use of biogeographical mapping practice by naturalists Alfred Russel Wallace to draw a boundary line between the Malay and Papuan groups in the eastern colonial tropics. The line was drawn along the western shore of Gilolo through Bouru and between Sumbawa and Flores in Indonesia. In 1848, the Ethnological Society of London began to publish its journal wherein they came up with the idea to construct an Ethnological Map of the World.
