First BAA observations using the Faulkes Telescope.

Information about several highlights of a meeting on the role of remote observing held by the British Astronomical Association is presented. Access was obtained via the Internet to the 2m Faulkes Telescope situated on Haleakala, Hawaii. Five objects selected by a pre-session raffle were observed in the frantic half-hour session. There were about 120 people attending the meeting. Andrew Newsam, Director of the National Schools' Observatory, provided invaluable technical support during the session.
