Abstract

The article focuses on the British government's initiation of the respect action plan to reduce bad behavior of pupils by training parents. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced to support the plan with an extra £70 million. A national parenting academy has been established which organizes parenting classes which teach parents to identify and deal with potential problems of misbehaving pupils. Under the plan, the school will have the power to force parents of problem children, through court orders, to attend these parenting classes.
