Abstract
- The article discusses the author's experiences of getting his key stage 3 students think in three dimensions. The author had used the technique of simple cards and scissors as an extension task with key stage 3 painting exercises to stretch students to think in three dimensions after successfully addressing the dynamics of two-dimensional composition. The author had based one such project on Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian artist, and his form of mood abstraction with geometric and free-hand motifs to play wit. The project has presented an ideally neutral starting point.
