Abstract

The article looks into the use of motor racing concept as way of fun-way of learning mathematics. A similar deepening of understanding comes from the need to measure, manually with a protractor, the angles of the corners on the track. A group of 30 schools from all over Great Britain, each with a team of four children. The initial stages involve a lot of discussion, decisions and paper calculations about speeds, fuel, track conditions, weather and calculators were not allowed.
