Abstract
- The article reports on the allergy epidemic. The Western world has seen an exponential increase in the number of children affected by allergies. Scientific speculation attributes the rise to a hypoallergenic world that leads the body to attack "hostile" intruders like milk. Anaphylactic shock can be deadly to many. Antihistamine sales increased by 15% from 2001 and many people who suffer from allergies carry EpiPens, containing epinephrine, with them at all times.
