The article presents the author reply to comments on her article "The Politics of Ritual: The Emergence of Classic Maya Rulers." She rendered gratitude to invaluable comments on her article about Maya rituals. She explained the materialistic attitude in relation to political power highlighting the practical side of a complex feature. Her reference to political power speculates a concern with the details of surplus allocation which contains both material and nonmaterial aspects.
