Abstract
- The article focuses on the difficulties faced by the Hemingway Preservation Foundation and the National Trust for Historic Preservation in restoring the villa and the fishing boat of author Ernest Hemingway in Cuba. The longstanding U.S. embargo against Cuba has affected the restoration efforts launched for the Hemingway villa. The U.S. team may not contribute funds to the restoration project as part of the license awarded by the Treasury Department. The preservation of Hemingway papers and books has also been hampered by the embargo.
