Abstract
- This article reports that the students of Padstow Primary School in Cornwall, England, are helping to construct the school building in an environmentally friendly way. The school's music room was built using cob, the traditional mixture of clay, sand and straw. Cob is considered the most natural and recyclable of all building materials. Phil Banks, the school's headteacher, was determined that the school building should make maximum use of environmentally friendly materials and techniques. Businesspersons Adam Weismann and Katy Bryce, who supervised the construction project, discovered cob in Oregon.
