Abstract
- The article focuses on the reaction of private equity investor Wilbur Ross Jr. to the explosion which killed thirteen miners in a mine that he owns in Sago, West Virginia. The press coverage portrayed him as a heartless coal baron. Ross became the target of recriminations from victims' families whose emotional swing riveted the nation. Ross stated that the memory of those who died at Sago will haunt him.
