Abstract

The article presents a travel guide to the art works of Michelangelo Buonarroti in Florence, Italy. The author began his tour where one of Michelangelo's first known works hangs: the cream-colored 15th-century Church of Santo Spirito, designed by Florentine Filippo Brunelleschi, who masterminded the massive dome that crowns the Duomo, the city's central cathedral. The author also visited the Galleria dell' Accademia, by Piazza San Marco. Founded in 1563, the Accademia contains some of Michelangelo's most important works, including Quattro Prigioni, the unfinished sculptures of four prisoners.
