Abstract

This article reports that two recent measures in the U.S. Congress could breathe new life into production and sales of the Lockheed Martin Corp.-built aircraft. U.S. Representative Kay Granger, who represents Lockheed Martin's massive Fort Worth, Texas production facility, sponsored the amendment last week that repealed an earlier law prohibiting F-22 sales internationally. Representative David Obey proposed the restrictive language in 1997. It has been law since and will remain so until U.S. President George W. Bush signs the Fiscal 2007 defense spending bill.
