Abstract
- The article reports that whether one shots 66 or 96, the mind of a golfer returns to putts dropping, chips snuggling and pin-seeking pitches that made partners applaud. It's golf's great truth that one needs a good short game to go low. While not all of the golfers can muscle 300-yard tee shots, everyone can putt and chip better--with a little help from Dave Pelz, GOLF Magazine's technical and short-game consultant. He's spent three decades researching the best ways to get up and down from inside 100 yards. Pelz has shaped golf in another very dramatic way, helping Phil Mickelson go from Best Player Never Etc. to a multiple major winner and genuine rival to Tiger Woods.
