The article reports that as Lockheed Martin Corp. and Boeing Co. are facing closure of their military transport production lines, European rival European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co., is sensing an opportunity to sell its midsize airbus A400M. Boeing has been producing C-17 airlifters for many years. Boeing's search for customers for 10 unobligated strategic airlifters for which it has started ordering parts, is still continuing. Fears of a C-17 production line closure have driven Canada and Australia to look for other options.
