The article focuses on deltaretrovirus from the Retroviridae family. The viral envelope of deltaretrovirus contains proteins with cellular lipid bilayer. The polarity of the genomic single-stranded RNA of the virus is positive-sense. While the site of transcription is in the nucleus, the cell membrane is the site of virion assembly.
