Abstract

The article reports on the response of the British government to the consultation on proposals to reform incapacity benefit and extend access of employees to occupational health services. The government discarded the proposals to change statutory sick pay (SSP) as stated in its consultation on the green paper "A New Deal for Welfare." The plan to reject three waiting days before employers pay SSP has been dropped. Tax incentives will be considered by the government to encourage employers to invest in occupational health.
