Abstract
- This article offers information on problems and challenges being faced by the U.S. air transportation system, despite of air traffic management initiatives. The industry's growth has surpassed GDP growth. Air travel demand is projected to increase, based on the official data from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The nation is experiencing problems in air spacing requirement. Another concern is the aging air traffic controller workforce.
