Abstract
- The article focuses on the concerns expressed by farmers on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the European Union during a special meeting at the Royal Show in Great Britain. The "Vision for the CAP" document of the government recommended phasing out all direct payments and market support for agriculture by 2020. Guy Smith, a farmer from Essex, England, challenged the members of the Parliament over their attitude towards agriculture. Committee chairman Michael Jack credited the contribution of the farmers to the inquiry.
