Abstract

This article discusses the quality of books from a bookseller's perspective. The author describes the difference between well-written books and books that are saleable. The bookseller tries to wade through the endless supply of new titles trying to separate the mediocre and bad titles to provide the best reading selections. He also suggests that the books with the most garish covers might not be the best books because publishers are trying to catch your eye with just the cover.
