This article reports on the efforts of Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and other aerospace companies in working on systems to fill U.S. military and government agency needs for improved intelligence dissemination. Bob Mitchell, vice president for advanced systems capabilities at Northrop Grumman, said they are investing in a system they call the Advanced Information Architecture. It is hardware, software and communications capability that can be installed very compactly on any platform, whether it is a Global Hawk, P-3 or MC2A or even a very small, unmanned system.
