Let teachers decide the canon.

The article discusses the literary canon and argues that it is an evolving entity which should not remain unchanged or unedited. Teachers recognize the need for a canon because they know the importance of exposing children to different forms of literature produced in different time periods, however the list does not need to remain static and teachers should have the right to alter it as they see fit.
