Abstract

The article reports that 9.4 percent of African American students and 9.8 percent of Latino students earn Regents diplomas in four years in New York city. The data compiled at an education committee meeting revealed that about 54 percent of students graduate in four years. Eva S. Moakowitz, Education committee Chairperson, was appalled at the figures and has asked city leaders for their response.
