Abstract

The article presents the author's comment on innate immune response pathways, which plays significant role in controlling the adaptive immune response to infection. It includes information on researchers' efforts towards the development of mammalian cell culture infection models. The author also discusses the potential of microarray methodology to identify novel host responses to infection in complex systems.
