A Genomics Approach to the Study of Ancient Polyploidy and Floral Developmental Genetics.

The article investigates how cross-species comparisons of gene sequences and gene-expression patterns are elucidating the evolution of many plant processes. The improving resolution of phylogenetic relationship among plant lineages is providing the historical context necessary to understand events associated with the origin and diversification of seed plants. Furthermore, the value of comparative genetic approaches in the study of gene function is discussed.
