Abstract

The article compares the population of the U.S. between 1967 and 2006, based on statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census Bureau forecasted that the population in 2006 will reach 300 million based on their annual survey. Statistics show that in 1967, there were more children than adults, personal computers and Internet did not exist, women got a smaller share of the payroll, and the proportion of people living in poverty was slightly higher. While, in 2006 most three- to four- year-olds attend school, children are exposed to technology at home and at school, mothers are likely to be working outside the home, and households have higher incomes.
