Abstract

The article discusses the involvement of anti-desmoglein antibodies in the pathogenesis of pemphigus vulgaris. This section examines how anti-desmoglein antibodies can cause acantholysis, why is the acantholysis restricted to the basal cell layer, and can other autoantibodies cause acantholysis. The section also offers various reports with regards to the involvement of anti-desmoglein antibodies.
