Abstract
- The article offers lessons from the life of Ulysses S. Grant, a senior general in the United States Army who fought in the Civil War and a former President of the United States. It discusses Grant's strengths that include fighting for what is right, his tenacity, boldness, personal integrity, humility and followership. It demonstrates as well his weaknesses including his being drunk, his false optimism and placing his trust to the wrong people.
