Abstract

The article discusses a policing method that officials in High Point, North Carolina have instituted in order to deal with drug dealers. Police officials have created a program that combines threats of legal prosecution with pleas from family members, clergy or others who have an influence in a drug dealer's life. The program has proven to be effective in shutting down drug markets in High Point; the article explores the program and criticism by some that it is too lenient.
