Abstract

The article presents the author's comments on the research conducted by A. Pohlmann and colleagues on the genome sequence of Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) producer, Ralstonia eutropha H16. In his view, the genome sequence provides a foundation for optimizing PHA biosynthesis and for developing metabolic-engineering strategies to generate bioplastics with improved properties.
