Abstract
- The article reports that the Norwegian government has taken a pro-industry stance on the use of flame retardant deca-brominated diphenyl ether (deca-BDE) in electronic products. Norwegian Environment Minister Helen Bjørnøy will allow the continued use of deca-BDE in electronic products as stipulated by a newly agreed European Union legislation dubbed Restriction of Hazardous Substances. A comparison of Norway's changed approach on deca-BDE with those of Sweden is provided.
