Abstract
- This article focuses on the mysteries surrounding art collector William M. V. Kingsland only discovered upon his death in the spring of 2006. His friends learned that his real name was Melvyn Kohn. Among stolen art in his collection were pieces taken from a Midtown gallery in 1967 and from Harvard University in 1971. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, two auction houses and the Office of the Public Administrator for Manhattan are investigating his art collection.
