A Report Card on the State of Research in the Field of Gifted Education.

The article presents a paper that was delivered at the National Association for Gifted Children Symposium 2006 which was aimed at exploring the developments in research that will sustain the growth of gifted education. The author comments on a wide range of topics including the insurance of a sufficient number of high-quality scientists, doctors, and engineers who are prepared to meet the future needs of the society, the evaluation of the service of the public schools, the determination of the value added of gifted education for all children, and the determination of the value added of educating a gifted student to full capacity by way of special programming.
