Abstract
- The article presents information on the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing System, which is an alternative to hip replacement surgery. The device is developed by surgeon Derek McMinn in Birmingham, England. Hip resurfacing involves capping and shaping with an implant made from cobalt chrome. The surgeon has performed 2,763 hip resurfacing operations in England.
