Abstract

The article reports on the move of Merck KGAA, a German-based pharmaceutical company, to pay US$30 million to US$240 million for rights to a diabetes drug from Glenmark Pharmaceutical, a Mumbai, India-based drug company. The deal would include Merck to develop and commercialize the diabetes drug while Glenmark will retain the rights in the country. The diabetes drug is called GRC 8200 which is dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors.
