Los Angeles Paper Ousts Top Editor.

This article describes the ouster of Dean Baquet as editor of the "Los Angeles Times." Baquet follows publisher Jeffrey M. Johnson, who was also ousted. Both men openly objected to staffing cuts ordered by the Tribune Company in September 2006. Johnson's successor, David Hiller, met with Baquet and announced after the meeting that he and Baquet had significant differences on the future direction of the newspaper.
