Abstract

The article focuses on the growth of mobile homes based on the study on Butte County, California. The author points out that the primary reason for an increasing number of medium to low-income families choosing mobile homes is housing shortages. She stresses that the Federal Housing Administration and the American National Standards Institute have sought to improve construction and safety standards for both mobile home units and mobile home courts.
