Abstract
- The article focuses on the role played by the country's first book store for children in the creation of "Horn Book" magazine. The bookshop was called the Bookshop for Boys and Girls in Boston, Massachusetts and owned by Bertha Mahoney Miller. Miller later became the founder and first editor of the magazine "Horn Book." Details are given for the difficulties facing the bookshop as well as the introduction and transformation of the magazine.
