- The article states that the New Jersey Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex couples can have the same legal rights as married couples and discusses economic aspects of the decision. The New Jersey State Legislature will decide whether to call the partnerships civil unions or marriages. Legal aspects involved with this decision include health care benefits for partners, estate or inheritance taxes, and a right to family leave time.
