Abstract

The article offers information about a study that investigates the nanoscale geometric effects in a simple model system of approximately spherical gold nanoparticles of varying diameter approaching the size of the dodecanethiol adsorbate. Nonlinear surface-selective vibrational sum frequency generation spectroscopy is applied to characterize the conformation of dodecanethiol on gold nanoparticle surfaces.
