Abstract

A series of sodium potassium cobalt oxyhydrates NaxKz(H2O)yCoO2 (x=0.38–0.28 and z=0–0.08) were synthesized using aqueous KMnO4 solution with various molar ratio of KMnO4/Na with respect to the sodium content in the parent compound γ-Na0.7CoO2. Superconductivity was observed at the transition temperature Tc ∼ 4.5 – 4.6 K. in all fully-hydrated samples. © 2006 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
