Abstract
- The article reports that despite leadership changes in the U.S. Congress, expectation of an ambitious new agenda related to environmental protection is unlikely. The views held by John Dingell, Democrat of Michigan, regarding environmental protection shows the difficulty in finding support for a broad agenda. Although Dingell supports the control of toxic substances, yet, he never embraced automobile fuel-efficiency standards.
