Abstract

The article provides information on several research initiatives in China that focus on geological hazards. It is said that the Greater North China Initiative (GNIC) includes a study of the lithospheric thinning. The Chinese Earthquake Administration has acquired 600 portable seismometers in parallel to the lightening project and the GNIC.
