Abstract
- The article reports on the decision of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to allow pesticides to be applied by farmers, ranchers and public health officials over and near bodies of water without obtaining a permit under the Clean Water Act. However, pesticide manufacturers want the EPA to widen the scope of its final rule beyond aquatic uses and forest canopy application. EPA clarifies that pesticides should comply with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act.
