Abstract: The article presents an abstract of the research paper "Metabolic Abnormalities and Ischaemic Damage in the Mature Brain." A range of tissue damage determined by multiple factors including the severity and duration of insult is produced by cerebral ischaemia. Delayed death of selected neuronal subpopulations is caused by a short period of global ischaemia.
