Abstract
- The article focuses on the role of the chip packaging design by Agere Systems in allowing Samsung Electronics to produce thin cellular telephones. The memory chip is stacked on top of the baseband chip package to reduce the overall area footprint in Samsung's Ultra Edition 6.9 and Ultra Edition 9.9. The use of chips on both sides of the circuit board makes mobile telephones thicker. Samsung also released what it claims to be the thinnest liquid crystal display panels.
