Abstract
- The article focuses on an increased involvement of the United States' 800,000 state and local police officers in the detection of terrorists, would be terrorists, and their support networks in the U.S., which has been seen since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The case of several Russian immigrants thought to be supporting Chechen extremist groups in Russia, who were arrested by Los Angeles police officers, is presented as an example.
