Registration of `Everest' Kentucky Bluegrass.

The article provides an overview of the registration of Everest Kentucky bluegrass, a turf-type variety released in August 2004 by Jacklin Seed by Simplot in Post Falls, Idaho. The variety was derived from the open-pollinated progeny of Jacklin breeding line, 87-0057. It is closely similar to Barrister, differing from it by a shorter internode length below the panicle node, shorter seed length, and lower seed weight. Details on yield and agronomic traits, breeding conditions and method, maintenance, and growth habits are presented.
