Abstract
- The article presents information related to the gambling industry in Macao, China. Entrepreneur Stanley Ho bought the colony's gaming franchise from the Portuguese government and held it till 2002, when gambling was opened up to competition. The casino boom and economic effects are changing the face of Macao. Ho is getting fierce competition challenge from the Casino Lisboa, and Wynn Macau, opened by gambling mogul Stephen A. Wynn.
