Abstract: The article discusses how the Chinese people interpret the propaganda slogan Harmonious Society promoted in communist China. The harmonious society concept was initially raised by the Hu-Wen administration at the Tenth Annual Conference of the Congress of the Chinese National People in March 2005. It is customary in the country that for every official slogan, the people will have another version with a different interpretation.
